My daughters are crazy about ice cream. Really all kinds of ice cream, but this one …. is a winner.
And when the kids are not around, this mommy eats what’s left of it 🙂
No, Oreo’s are not the healthiest cookies, we all know that, but 2 things:
They’re vegan and we need pleasures so we just might do it good.
Now, for the recipe.
I have chosen to place 2 different recipes. One with ice cream maker and one without, everyone must be able to enjoy it…
WITH ICE CREAM MAKER
food processor or blender
ice cream maker
1 can coconut milk ( not cream!!)
1/2 cup maple syrup
pinch of salt
1 tbsp pure vanilla
8 to 10 Oreo cookies
Combine the coconut milk, maple syrup, salt and vanilla in a mixer and pour into your ice cream machine.
Let the machine do it’s job for about 20 mins. ( Time can be different on every ice cream maker but it’s ready when it has the ice cream texture).
Put the oreocakes in a bag and break them by knocking on it with a rolling pin. Add them to the ice. Place the ice cream for at least an hour in the freezer before serving it.
WITHOUT ICE CREAM MAKER
food processor of blender
5 frozen bananas (in slices)
1/3 cup of vegetable milk or coconut milk
2 tbsp maple syrup
pinch of salt
1 vanilla stew or 1 tbsp pure vanilla
10 Oreo cookies
Remove the bananas from the freezer and let defrost for about 15 mins.
Put the bananas together with some of the milk in your kitchen machine and mix. Keep mixing until you get that ice cream texture and add a bit milk if it’s too dry. Little by little or you will get a smoothie and no ice cream.
Break the cookies in smaller pieces and add with the rest of the ingredients to the bananas.
Ready to eat!
The coconut flavor is NOT dominant! On the contrary, my oldest daughter does not like coconut but adores this ice cream.
